Well, there's an end to that particular yarn. It began as a parody of Sin City, but frankly, I'd say it was less over-the-top than the original. To really lampoon Sin City, you'd have to attain Mad magazine levels of silliness, and I don't think I could keep that up!

In fact, I think I've some close to copying the contents of a Lazlo Woodbine story, let's see: First person narration, check. PI's office, check. Bar scene, check (though not much 'talking toot'). Sticky situations in alleys, check. Gratuitous sex, check. Violence, check. Showdown on rooftop, check. Villain falls from rooftop, check (if non-fatally). On the other hand, we had locations beside the main four, no Dame Who Done Him Wrong and the hero didn't wear a trenchcoat and fedora. I did try drawing Rock in a trenchcoat, but he looked so much like John Constantine that I changed it for a leather jacket.

Still and all, I have enjoyed this story and will be returning to Noireville in future. Next update here, however, will feature a new setting, new characters and even a new drawing style. Check back soon!

To me it was pure Elmore Leonard. Can't wait for the next one!

Elmore Leonard? Really? I wasn't aiming to be so serious! Anyway, the next one is going to have some definite '30s pulp elements, and more. I must make time to get started!
